If you think a bunion splint is the only thing that can give you bunion relief, think again. It’s not. There are natural remedies that can numb the pain and reduce your discomfort. Here are some of them.
Pineapples. Pineapples are tasty. But guess what? They can also reduce swelling! This is because pineapples contain a protein-dissolving enzyme called bromelain which stops or reduces swelling. So, go ahead, eat pineapples. Or, you can take a shortcut and try bromelain tablets instead.
Chamomile. Chamomile has long been used by early tribal groups to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, or help people relax. Well, believe it or not, you can use chamomile to take the pain and the inflammation away. You can either apply it to your bunion, using a tea bag, or drink chamomile tea.
Cayenne pepper. Simply cut off the ends of the pepper, and then rub the pepper onto your bunion. What this does is numb the pain by blocking the nerves that transmit pain impulses.
There are many more natural remedies that you can try, aside from bunion splint, to give yourself bunion relief. Try one or two some time and see how it works. Remember, though, that while they provide relief from the pain, they will not correct the problem.
