Cold Sore Facts

General Add comments

When a person gets a cold sore they often think that it is a one off, or something that they have just caught from someone else – but they are wrong. Every single cold sore is due to the herpes simplex type 1 virus which is a type of highly infectious viral infection, which, once it is in your system will never leave.

This might come as a surprise to many people who think that cold sore causes range from it being too cold to over exposure to the sun, yet few know about cold sore cures. It is true that these things can bring on an attack of cold sores but they are not the cause of a cold sore fever blister.

It is also wise when you have cold sores to do everything you can to prevent them from either spreading to more places on your own body or from spreading to anyone else. So make sure that you avoid touching your cold sores and do not share utensils with anyone or kiss anyone as this can infect someone else. Remember once you have a cold sore you will have the virus in you forever, and when you have an outbreak do not spread them to anyone else.
