If you don’t have ringworm and thus have no need for ringworm remedies, keep it that way. Prevention is always better than a cure and ringworm is no exemption.
Ringworm, also known as tinea, is contagious and is caused by fungus. You know you have one once you start itching and seeing patches of red, rough blistery skin that has taken on the form of a ring. Make no mistake about it, however. The infection may be called ringworm but it is not caused by a worm. Neither will you find a worm in one.
How do you prevent the occurrence of ringworm and consequently, avoid the need for ringworm remedies? Here are some tips.
1. Do not share clothing, towels, sheets, or sports equipment. The person you share these with might have ringworm and could pass this on to you by accident.
2. Do not walk barefoot in wet or moist public areas such as the locker room or the beach.
3. Do not forget to wash your hands most especially after you come into contact with pets. Animals like cats and dogs often suffer from ringworm. Make sure you do not inadvertently infect yourself.
Ringworm may be easy to get rid of but it is not fun to live with. Avoid having to do so by taking precautionary measures.
